Description
The Nature Conservancy asks that people stay on the paths along the Michigan dunes and dune grass as they are a threatened commodity. There are few and fewer accesses where you can trail the dunes for the tranquility and views of Lake Michigan. Much of the beach fronts have been swallowed up by private land owners or the bluffs are too steep to safely negotiate. For that reason, it's much appreciated that the Saugatuck Harbor Natural Area bordering Oval Beach in Southwest Michigan has been preserved for all to enjoy. Fall has transformed the mature and lush summertime green beach grass into its winter gold color, a striking contrast against the deep blue waters of Lake Michigan!
