Description
A sundog is a halo effect of either colorful or white reflecting light around the sun. They often appear in pairs to the right and left of the sun and can be joined by a faint wide arch around it. The effect is caused by ice crystals in the clouds refracting the light. It's a rare occasion to witness one and this beautiful October sunset over Lake Michigan in Saugatuck, Michgan brought out the sun seekers all blessed with good luck!
