A World War II radio tower used during the cold war era to detect suspicious aircraft flying across Lake Michigan still stands even though it was decommissioned years ago. It's constructed on a dune that used to be bare, thus the name "Mount Baldhead" was given for this reaching sand dune with its radio tower. The hard lesson from clear cutting and a buried city called Singapore elicited tree planting so history wouldn't repeat. Today the radio tower is a reminder of days gone by and attracts tourists from around the globe along with Oval Beach from where it looks across off to the west. A late afternoon glow transforms the colors of the dune grass, trees and sky of the beautiful landscape beneath the tower.
Nature is in us all shinning our inner lights a little brighter! If feel inspired to capture her essence through the lens, especially from my Lake Michigan surroundings and even from my own country garden landscape.
