The colors of Lake Michigan change on a regular basis depending on several factors such as cloud cover, mineral content, plant material or algae in the water. The soft green color on this day had much to do with the winds for the past few days stirring the water, pulling quartz sand and silt from the lake bottom to the surface. The thin cloud cover diffused the light creating the pleasant calm appearance further enhanced with a stormy deep blue background. Original photography was digitally manipulated to create an impressionist feel.
Nature is in us all shinning our inner lights a little brighter! If feel inspired to capture her essence through the lens, especially from my Lake Michigan surroundings and even from my own country garden landscape.
