The back dunes of Michigan's Saugatuck Harbor Natural Area near Oval Beach supports a birch stand in the lowlands. With the absences of summer leaves, the white trunks really make an impression on the landscape with just a peek of the Oxbow Art Camp in the background. Once upon a time before 1901, the Kalamazoo River flowed in this very spot before they rerouted it. I added to the original photograph a soft impressionist painterly texture.
Nature is in us all shinning our inner lights a little brighter!
