It's so well worth the mile trek over uneven ice chunks starting from the popular Oval Beach in order to reach the Kalamazoo River mouth emptying into Lake Michigan. The ice cover transforms the shoreline and shines in the late afternoon Michigan sunset. Standing there alone there's a feeling as if you're the only person in the world and nature is listening close!
