Regardless of the chilly winter temperatures, the people who live near the Great Lakes walk the beaches, mostly during the sunset hour. They're seeking solitude and the therapeutic comfort nature provides as the sound of the gentle waves and the glow of the sky wipes out the stresses of daily life. I stayed a half hour or so after the sun went down behind the horizon to capture the afterglow which provides the richest colors using a long exposure! Only a few people walked past my camera set up. This man seemed to be in deep thought as he went by. (Lake Michigan at Pier Cove Beach)
Nature is in us all shinning our inner lights a little brighter! If feel inspired to capture her essence through the lens, especially from my Lake Michigan surroundings and even from my own country garden landscape.
