The smooth textures and soft blue-grey tones of these beach stones convey a calm, zen-like quality, so much so that you can almost hear the motion of the waves pushing them against the sandy shoreline. This is a little closer version of beach pebbles I posted previously on FAA, titled "Stone Soup II".

The majority of these rocks are basalt and limestone. Basalt is (grey to black) fine grained underlying more of Earth's surface than any other rock type.
