Description
The Kalamazoo River-mouth leading out to Lake Michigan have man made rock-piled piers supporting the light towers to assist incoming boaters. Powerful westerly winds are not unusual and this day they were 40 mph sustained with gusts up to 60 mph slamming the waves against the pier 100 feet into the air. Several large boulders had been knocked off the rock pilings further demonstrating the power of Lake Michigan.

Wow.....! Outstanding capture, Kathi! Crashing waves and turbulent seas are so exciting to see and to experience! Those waves spell out 35-50 knot winds yet, somehow, you produced a crystal clear image! Well done! l/f/t

Spectacular capture, Kathi ... wonderful timing on your part ... the frothy waves in the foreground and splashing around the beautiful red lighthouse are mirrored by the fluffly clouds in that wonderful blue sky!!! VERY lovely artwork!!! l/f
