One of a photographic series of beautiful seashells. As many of us are very attracted to these seaside treasures, we feel a sense of wonder and excitement when discovering them. The Atlantic Giant Cockle, also known as the Great Heart Cockle can be found from Virginia, south to Florida, Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean. Their shells are large up to five inches and sturdy with 32 to 36 radiating ribs. They commonly have reddish brown patches on their outer shells and deep pinkish inside.
I began with a photograph and digitally added a slight hand-painted effect! Great for hanging in the beach house!
