Description
Daffodils from the garden displayed in a gold antique vase creates an elegant still life. The vase was produced by The Wheeling Decorating Glass Company of West Virginia, which operated between 1869 to 1962. They decorated glass, china, pottery and porcelain with their trademark gold leafing. The company, often referred to as WDCO, purchased blanks from companies around the world including Cambridge, Central Glass, Fenton, Fostoria, Homer Laughlin, Lenox and many more, and then decorated them with elaborate etchings and gilded designs by a team of skilled craftsmen. They sometimes added the Wheeling logo to their pieces, but often did not. This particular vase is marked and is patterned with their customary daisies, roses and doves.
