Description
The wind sifts the snow and sand into works of art on the shores of Lake Michigan in St. Joe, Michigan on Silver Beach. Visits to the beach are rare in the winter, so I had never before seen these wind made sculptors quite this way! I found them beautiful and fascinating and glad I ventured out on a chilly January day!

Love the texture and patterns in this capture, Kathi!!! When I lived in Berrien Springs, MI, I use to be amazed at the frozen waves on Lake Michigan that would pile up in layers in the wintertime! L/F

Very kind of you Hazel, thank you! BTW I wrote a photo essay about how those ice hills form on the Lake. Go to my profile and click on the Hubpages link. It's the most recent article I wrote there.
